Since picking up a guitar at the tender age of 12, it was obvious James had a natural flair for music. By the age of 14, James was composing love songs and catchy rock numbers with a dream that one day his talents would be appreciated by a much larger audience. Over the years, James has perfected his skills and performances winning major talent competitions on the Sydney “Cabaret Circuit”. In 1989, James won the Ricky May Award on Channel 9’s New Faces, performing an original composition titled, “Love Got The Best Of Me”. During the 90’s James made an appearance on The Good Morning Show with John Mangos on Channel 7 and fronted two Sydney cover bands called “The Underdogs” and “The Real Gone Cats”. These groups provided support acts for Jenny Morris, John Paul Young, Chubby Checker, Pat Boone and Mondo Rock. James has also performed on stage with Kevin Borich and provided support for two Australian music icons in: Dave Warner and Joe Camilleri. From 1998-2000, James toured Australia and New Zealand performing as Johnny O’Keefe in the Elvis & Johnny O’Keefe Tribute Show.
