The Caloundra Camera Group is now in its 14th year and has now enjoyed sponsorship by Caloundra RSL for nearly two years. Our aim is to encourage the development of all members’ photographic skills and knowledge that they, and others, may enjoy the art of photography. Our Club has around 70 members who range from absolute beginners to fairly experienced and capable photographers.
Our club has a full 2010 calendar (see latest newsletter for details) including competitions, socials, outings and workshops. Our monthly club night, held in the RSL Bowling Club at the rear of the RSL, is mainly dedicated to our monthly competitions where an external photographic judge provides a talk and judges our images. We also hold a second night we call “sharenite” devoted to a special subject and to the peer review of images shot by our members.
In appreciation of the support the RSL provides to our club we undertake free of charge photo shoots for most RSL functions; photographing a wide variety of functions also provides invaluable experience to our members. A folder of proof sheets for recently photographed functions is attached to the display boards in the foyer and you can place orders for any images found within these folders.
