The 3rd annual Caloundra Crime Stoppers Bowls Day was once again held at the Caloundra RSL Memorial Bowls Club on Friday 9th October. The event recieved strong corporate support from Caloundra RSL, the Caloundra RSL Sub Branch and many other businesses in the local community.

Approximately 70 players participated on the day and Crimestoppers raised close to $6000 from the event. This money will be used to provide rewards to the community for information provided in solving crime and to fund a pull-out annexe for a police van attached to Maroochydore station. This van is deployed at the scene of serious incidents and major crimes. The addition of the annexe will enable Police and volunteers to set up a static display at the scene of such incidents to encourage members of the community to come forward with information.

Crime Stoppers Queensland is a not-for-profit community volunteer organistaion, providing the Queensland public with the only means of providing anonymous information to the Queensland Police Service, thereby assisting to improve the safety of the local community.
