Andrew Baxter Band
Drawing from a very wide range of influences, Andrew’s performances are very much audience oriented. Whether in solo mode, duo, trio, or with his 12 piece “Blues Extravaganza” show, Andrew’s performances are always aimed at ensuring the audience is entertained and goes home with a smile on their face and a song on their lips.
Andrew released his debut solo album “Middle Class Blues Singer” in March 2010 to widespread acclaim. The album has remained a staple of Australian blues radio shows since its release due in no small part to its solid songwriting, sparkling performances and variety of blues styles.
Highlights of Andrew’s 15 years as a musical performer include his 9 years as founding guitarist and vocalist of legendary band Blind Lemon, a number of years on and off playing guitar in the Mason Rack Band and playing at some of Australia’s most prestigious musical venues and festivals with both national and international stars
Andrew is a great believer in the magic of musical collaboration. This leads Andrew to continue to be a passionate and committed independent musician working with many others in the music community to bring new and different performers together to see what magic can be created. Andrew also believes in the importance of furthering oneself as a musician both on a technical and musical front. This means Andrew is one of the most respected musicians on the south east Queensland blues scene.
Anyone stepping out to see a concert where Andrew is involved is guaranteed to have a great evening.
