ANZAC DAY 2019
SUNSHINE COAST ANZAC DAY 2019 – CALOUNDRA RSL
Preparations are well underway to mark ANZAC Day on Thursday 25 Apr 2019, the 105th year since the Gallipoli landing, on the Sunshine Coast for 2019.
The Dawn Service at Kings Beach on the Sunshine Coast will follow the same format as last year, commencing with the Sunshine Coast Youth Band providing music from 5.15am. Local Cadet Units will slow march the flags through an Honour Guard to the flag poles at 5.20am, in time for the Service to commence at 5.28am.
The Sunshine Coast Anzac Day Dawn Service will consist of an opening address, Prayers, Guest Speaker, Laying of wreaths, and National Anthems, and is expected to be completed by 6.00am.
Participants in the Citizens March to the RSL are asked to assemble in the Stockland Shopping Centre carpark at 8.30am. The march, via Oval Ave, Arthur St and Third Ave, will commence at 9.00am and will be followed by a short wreath laying service in the RSL Memorial Garden for those not included in the Dawn Service.
There will be a free shuttle bus service between Currimundi Market Place, Dicky Beach Carpark, Stockland Carpark, and the RSL carpark between 4 am and 5 am and returning after the Dawn Service. This will help alleviate parking and access problems at King’s Beach.
